Iranian Foreign Minister, Abba Araghchi, has warned that Iran’s ‘sword’ will always be hanging around the Strait of Hormuz.
Speaking on state TV, Araghchi said the management of the Strait of Hormuz would not return to the pre-war era.
“Our sword will always hang over the Strait of Hormuz,” Araghchi said.
According to him, sovereignty over the strait belonged to Iran and Oman, and Iran would secure safe passage for ships through it.
He added that the issue of Iran’s nuclear programme had been postponed to the final agreement stage for various reasons.
“It commits itself not to interfere in Iran’s internal affairs, and asks us to commit ourselves not to interfere in its internal affairs. This is entirely on the basis of equality,” he stated.
