I lost sleep, weight for this presidency job – Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has acknowledged that his administration’s economic reforms have come with significant hardship for Nigerians, adding that the challenges have also taken a personal toll on him, including sleepless nights and weight loss.

Speaking shortly after being announced winner, Tinubu commended the national chairman of the committee and the entire electoral team, acknowledging their role in the process and the toll it took on everyone involved.

He said, “The national chairman of the committee, the entire members of the electoral process committee, the steadfast support and sacrifices of Nigerians across the country I salute all of you from all works of life.

“You’ve given me encouragement. Sometimes it is difficult and I shared the pain with you. I know what it takes to reform this economy that was in tatters. If you lost sleep, I lost some too. If you have lost weight, I think I have lost some too.”

“But I’ve always remembered one thing that year 2022, I asked for this job and you all supported me and I got it so I must do it,” he said.
