“I have been receiving pension since 2019” – Woman calls out UITH over indefinite suspension, alleges fraud

A Nigerian woman has called out the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) over what she described as an unfair and suspicious experience during her time at the institution.

In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter), she revealed she was suspended from work in 2019 but claims she was never informed about the duration or outcome of the suspension.

In her words, she said:

“I’m making this video to call out University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital on a particular case that happened to me while I was there in 2019. I was suspended from work. I was suspended, and ever since then, I didn’t hear anything from them.

I don’t know if they suspend people indefinitely. They did not indicate when I will resume. They did not say anything about it, and I waited till now. Up till now that I’m making this video, nothing has been said about the suspension.”

She further revealed that despite not receiving her salary, she has been getting pension alerts since the time of her suspension, which has left her confused.

The woman described the situation as questionable, calling on relevant authorities to investigate the matter.

“Then I’ve been receiving pension alerts. I don’t understand the pension alerts I’ve been receiving from the situation. You did not pay my salary, and you are giving me pension alerts since 2019.

So I’m calling on relevant bodies to look into it because this is corruption. Because how will you suspend someone since 2019 without saying anything and have been receiving pension alert? This is corruption,” she added.

According to her, receiving pension instead of salary is unusual and raises serious questions about the status of her employment.

Her claims have sparked concern online, with many calling for transparency and accountability in public institutions.
