A man has shared a humorous encounter at the beach after he realised his painted toenails may have led another man to assume he was gay.
The man, who narrated the experience online, said the stranger had been behaving unusually around him throughout the day, describing his actions as “behaving like a snake”.
According to him, he initially did not understand why the man was acting strangely towards him until he noticed his painted toenails.
Daughter’s painting causes unexpected misunderstanding
The man explained that the toenails were painted by his daughter and that he had completely forgotten to remove the polish before heading out.
He said the situation became even more amusing when the stranger addressed him as “babes“, despite his being a father.
Reacting to the unexpected encounter, the man said, “Didn’t realise that it’s because of my painted toenails that made this guy think I’m gay and has been behaving like a snake all around me at the beach today.”
He added, “Toes wey na my daughter paint and I totally forgot to clean it off before heading outside…”
The man further expressed his disbelief at being called the pet name, saying, “Ogbeni even called me “babes”. Me, Papa Ada, babes?”
