Popular South African influencer Matshidiso Shai has broken her silence after private videos involving her surfaced on social media, issuing an apology and taking responsibility for her actions.

In her statement, Matshidiso acknowledged the situation and expressed regret over the pain it has caused.
She said:
“I take full responsibility for my actions, and I apologise unreservedly.”
The influencer also directed a personal apology to her husband, admitting that the controversy had placed their marriage under intense public scrutiny.
She wrote:
“To my husband: I am deeply sorry for hurting you and for putting our marriage under public scrutiny… I am committed to doing the work to rebuild the trust that has been broken.”
The controversy has also involved a dancer identified as Limpopo Boy.
His management reportedly addressed the situation, apologising over the controversy while claiming that the private video was stolen and distributed without the consent of those involved.
Amid the controversy, Matshidiso’s husband also took to Facebook to share his emotional response to the situation.
In a lengthy post, he expressed deep disappointment over what he described as his wife’s alleged infidelity, claiming that she had been unfaithful with someone he considered a brother.
He wrote:
“They always say you could take a village girl out of the village but you can never take the village our of her 🙆♀️💔🙏😭😭
I loved matshidiso with her mistakes and thought she would become a better person 🥹❤️ But I was wrong
Instead she went and cheated on me with someone I considered a brother 😭💔
It is easy for everyone to judge but deep down I’m hurting and this is destroying my life 😭💔😭I really loved matshidiso
I defended her when people would talk bad about her but as a matter of fact they were right 💔😭💔🥹
Marrying matshidiso was the greatest mistake of my life and that’s the truth 🤞😭💔”
His Facebook bio also reportedly read “marriage is a curse”, accompanied by a heartbreak emoji.
