The West African Examinations Council has announced that the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination for School Candidates certificates are now available through its Digital Certificate Platform.
WAEC announced this in a post on its official X handle on Friday, encouraging candidates to retrieve their certificates via the site.
The test organization announced, “The 2026 WASSCE for School candidate Certificate is now available for access on the WAEC Digital Certificate Platform.”
Candidates can access, download, and distribute their certificates via the platform by going to the official WAEC website or via the WAEC Digital Certificate mobile app.
The digital certificate platform offers two types of access: Certificate Access, for individuals who wish to view, download, or share their certificates, and Certificate Confirmation, for institutions and organizations who want to check candidates’ credentials.
How To Access Your WAEC Certificate
To access the 2026 WASSCE certificate online, candidates should:
1. Visit the official WAEC website and access the Digital Certificate Platform.
2. Select Certificate Access.
3. Provide the necessary examination and identification information.
4. Finish the verification procedure, including any OTP authentication as needed.
5. View and download the digital certificate.
6. Keep the certificate secure or share it with institutions that require it.
WAEC also recommended candidates to utilize its official digital certificate application, which is available on the Google Play Store, to view their certificates.
The certificate platform is independent of the WAEC result-checking system, which candidates utilize to view their exam results.
The development arises after WAEC announced the results of the 2026 WASSCE for School Candidates.
WAEC reported that 1,950,726 applicants took the exam, with 1,200,514 (61.54 percent) receiving credits or above in at least five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
Before verifying their results on the result-checking portal, candidates had to generate a PIN and serial number using the WAEC website.
The 2026 test was performed between April 21 and June 19, 2026, with candidates from over 24,200 secondary schools. participating.
