A terrifying video has gone viral, showing the moment a large crocodile approached a tourist while she was swimming at night in Caye Caulker, Belize.
The incident reportedly happened on August 8, when the woman was enjoying a nighttime swim before she suddenly noticed the large reptile in the water.

In the footage, the crocodile could be seen moving towards the tourist as she quickly realised the danger.
She immediately began swimming away from the reptile while screaming for help.
The large crocodile was eventually dragged to safety, bringing the frightening encounter to an end.
The video captures the tense moment as the tourist desperately tried to put distance between herself and the animal while people nearby responded to the situation.
The incident reportedly occurred in Caye Caulker, a popular island destination in the Central American country of Belize.
Reacting to the video, Dr Marisa Tellez, executive director of the Crocodile Research Coalition, said: “What we saw in that video is not the natural behaviour of an American crocodile.
“This animal has been habituated.”
“Feeding has trained the reptiles to link humans with food.
“They hear human voices because now they have been trained, ‘I hear humans, I get food’.
“If you do see a crocodile that is coming close to you, do not splash.”
“Remain calm and go toward the shore, not putting your back towards crocodiles.”
