A Promise Made. A Promise Fulfilled.
On September 23, 2026, during his massive grassroots consultations across Brass Constituency 1, Hon. Robert Desmond Storms Cape Formosa (Ward 6) as part of his engagement with the people ahead of the 2027 Bayelsa State House of Assembly elections, representing Brass Constituency 1.
During that engagement, Hon. Robert Desmond made a commitment to the people of Cape Formosa, particularly the Beletiema community, where the Rural Development Authority office is located. He promised to ensure that the premises of the Rural Development Authority and its surrounding environment would be cleaned and cleared.
The concern was straightforward: the current Rural Development Authority administration had reportedly left a government-owned facility and its surroundings overgrown and neglected.
Today, that promise has been fulfilled!
The cleaning and clearing of the premises represent more than just an improved environment. He demonstrates the importance of listening to the concerns of the people, responding to community needs, and following through on commitments made during grassroots consultations.
For the people of the Beletiema community and the wider Cape Formosa, this development reminds us that community engagement should go beyond speeches and promises. It should translate into visible action that benefits the people.
Hon. Robert Desmond’s intervention highlights the value of accountability, responsiveness, and attention to public infrastructure. Government facilities belong to the people, and their surroundings deserve proper care and maintenance.
As conversations continue ahead of the 2027 Bayelsa State House of Assembly elections, this development adds a practical example to the discussion about public service, community priorities, and the responsibilities of those seeking to represent Brass Constituency 1.
The message is clear: when the people speak, their concerns deserve attention, and commitments should be followed by action.
Cape Formosa deserves a clean environment. Beletiema deserves attention. Public facilities deserve proper maintenance.
RDD FOR ASSEMBLY COME 2027.
