It was around 8:30 p.m. last Wednesday when two national police officers arrested an individual armed with a knife near the Vasarely foundation. The 51-year-old man, of no fixed address, is known to the police for multiple common law offenses and was an alcoholic. Even though he appeared threatening to the two law enforcement officers, shouting “Allah akbar” as he came out of a bush, they eventually reasoned with him and overpowered him. His identity was checked against the file of the services specializing in such cases, but without result. After prolonged custody, he was brought before the prosecution.
