The Niger State Police Command, with a heavy heart, regrets to announce the death of the former Commissioner of Police in Niger State, CP Diseye Desire Nsirim, who passed on 21st September, 2026 in a hospital after a brief illness.
CP Nsirim hails from Kolokuma/Opokuma LGA of Bayelsa State and served as the 27th, first and only female Commissioner of Police in Niger State between the period of 2012 – 2014.
She was a distinguished police officer and dedicated public servant who devoted her years of meritorious service to the nation.
Throughout her career, she demonstrated professionalism, courage, discipline, integrity and unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property, and while she was the Commissioner of Police in the State, she contributed significantly to the maintenance of law and order, crime prevention and public safety.
Most especially, dismantling the threat of Darul-Salam in Mokwa and bursting of another terrorist group in Minna were some of the notable achievements under her watch.
The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, mnips on behalf of officers and personnel of the Command commiserates with the family, relatives, colleagues and associates of the deceased.
The Command recognises the immense sacrifice and invaluable contributions of the late CP to policing in the State and national security.
CP Elleman extends his heartfelt condolences to the family and prays that Almighty God grants them the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
