The Nigeria Christian Civil Chaplain Corps has received official recognition from the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, marking a significant milestone in the organisation’s years of chaplaincy, humanitarian, and peacebuilding activities across the country.
The recognition was conveyed in a formal letter dated February 16, 2026, and addressed to the Corps Commanding Officer of the organisation, Daniel Alimi.
In the letter signed by Augustine Udoh on behalf of the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, the ministry confirmed that the corps had been duly registered on its National Youth Organisations register as a youth-serving body promoting peacebuilding and discipline through chaplaincy and humanitarian services.
“The Federal Ministry of Youth Development is pleased to confirm that the Nigeria Christian Civil Chaplain Corps is duly registered and recognised on its National Youth Organisation’s register as a youth-serving organisation that focuses on promoting peacebuilding and discipline through chaplaincy and humanitarian services,” the letter stated.
The ministry added that the organisation would be expected to implement programmes aligned with its mandate on youth development and the wellbeing of Nigerian youths nationwide.
In a statement issued in Uyo on Thursday, Alimi said the recognition affirmed the corps’ long-standing contributions to peacebuilding, moral discipline, and community-based humanitarian initiatives aimed at promoting national unity.
He noted that the development followed several years of sustained engagement by the organisation in supporting security-conscious initiatives and advancing moral values through structured outreach and spiritual support services.
Alimi also expressed appreciation to the Federal Government under the leadership of Bola Tinubu, describing the recognition as evidence of the administration’s commitment to inclusiveness and support for initiatives that promote unity and national development.
“This recognition demonstrates the Federal Government’s commitment to inclusiveness and support for initiatives that promote peace, unity, and national progress,” he said, while also commending the Minister of Youth Development for strengthening collaboration with youth-focused organisations.
He reaffirmed the corps’ commitment to promoting moral discipline, fostering unity, and supporting national peace and security efforts through chaplaincy services and humanitarian outreach programmes across Nigeria.
