FCT CP, Army Garrison Commander pledge stronger synergy on Abuja security

The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, on Thursday, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to inter-agency collaboration following a courtesy visit by the Commander, Army Headquarters Garrison, Major General JR Lar.

The meeting was held at the FCT Police Command Headquarters, Abuja, on 13th August 2026, according to a statement by the Command’s spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh.

During the visit, Major General Lar acknowledged the existing synergy between the FCT Police Command and the Army Headquarters Garrison.

He solicited continued cooperation in key areas including intelligence sharing, joint operations, and the promotion of camaraderie among personnel of both formations.

The Army Garrison Commander noted that sustained partnership between the Police and the Army is critical to maintaining peace and order in the Federal Capital Territory.

Responding, CP Sanusi assured the Commander of the Command’s full support and cooperation towards sustaining the security of the FCT.

The Commissioner further reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to strengthening the existing partnership and fostering greater synergy between both formations in the discharge of their official responsibilities.

He emphasized that security in the FCT can only be achieved through coordinated efforts and mutual trust between security agencies.

The meeting concluded with an exchange of goodwill, contact details and a group photograph, signaling both institutions’ resolve to deepen collaboration.

The visit comes at a time when security agencies in the FCT are intensifying joint operations to address emerging threats and ensure a safe environment for residents.
