Ex-Mr Nigeria Ugo Nwokolo Apologises After Fiancée Discovers He Has Two Children — November Wedding Now Uncertain

Former Mr Nigeria, Ugo Nwokolo, has publicly apologised to his fiancée, Precious Happiness Eni, popularly known as The Fruit Girl, after controversy erupted over his failure to disclose that he had two children from previous relationships.

The development has thrown the couple’s planned November 2026 wedding into uncertainty, despite the fact that they had already begun traditional marriage rites and were making preparations to complete the union later in the year.

Nwokolo, who holds the title of Mr Nigeria Supranational 2024, addressed the controversy in a video shared on his X account, acknowledging that the disclosure about his children emerged after wedding preparations were already underway.

“This was the beginning of our traditional rites. Plans were already in motion for everything to be concluded this November before Pandora’s box was opened,” he said.

The controversy reportedly began after Precious discovered that Nwokolo had two children from previous relationships, a fact he admitted he had not disclosed to her earlier in their relationship.

Reports said the couple had been together for nearly two years and were preparing for marriage before the revelation emerged.

Precious, a former fruit seller who became widely known on social media after being discovered by Untouchable Comedies, was reported to have reconsidered the relationship following the discovery.

Amid widespread speculation that the wedding had been called off, Nwokolo said he did not know whether his fiancée had forgiven him and acknowledged that she needed space.

“A lot of people have been asking me if Precious has forgiven me; the truth is, I don’t know,” he said.

“I have apologised, and I can only hope that, in time, she finds a place in her heart to forgive me. For now, I have to respect her space.”

Nwokolo admitted responsibility for failing to tell Precious about his children before their relationship progressed towards marriage.

“I take responsibility for my actions, and I promise to learn from this, grow from it, and be a better husband to you going forward. I am sorry, my love,” he said.

He also clarified that although he has children from previous relationships, he had never been married before, describing his relationship with Precious as his first attempt at building a marital home with a partner.

According to him, the traditional marriage process had already commenced before the controversy broke, with November originally intended for the completion of the marriage ceremonies.

The public disagreement became more noticeable after the couple reportedly unfollowed each other on social media, fuelling speculation that their engagement had collapsed.

Reports subsequently claimed that Precious had called off the wedding after learning about the two children and had sought advice from her followers over the situation.

Nwokolo, however, stopped short of declaring the relationship over. Instead, he said he remained hopeful that Precious would eventually forgive him while stressing that he would respect whatever decision she makes.

The episode has generated widespread discussion online, particularly around honesty, trust and disclosure of children or previous relationships before marriage.

While some commentators have criticised Nwokolo for not disclosing such a significant part of his personal history earlier, others have focused on whether the relationship can recover following his public apology.
