The Federal Government is accepting applications for Batch C of its Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Initiative, offering eligible Nigerians free vocational training and a reported monthly stipend of ₦30,000.
Coordinated by the Federal Ministry of Education, the programme is designed to equip participants with practical skills for employment and self-employment. Training is delivered through accredited centres nationwide.
Applicants can choose from trades such as electrical installation, solar photovoltaic installation, plumbing, welding and fabrication, automobile repairs, fashion design, refrigeration and air-conditioning, hospitality, digital media production, beauty therapy and agriculture. Available courses may differ by training centre.
The initiative has two pathways. The Short-Term Certificate (STC) programme lasts six months and is suitable for beginners and applicants without formal educational qualifications. The Vocational Education and Innovation (VEI) programme runs for one year and is intended for applicants with previous education, vocational experience or recognised informal learning.
For the STC pathway, applicants need a valid National Identification Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN). VEI applicants may provide a First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC), Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or a certificate from a recognised non-formal education programme.
The official portal confirms tuition-free training and monthly stipends. Recent reports put the Batch C stipend at ₦30,000 monthly. Participants may also receive recognised certification, while starter packs and business support are subject to programme provisions and should not be considered guaranteed for everyone. No confirmed application deadline has been announced.
