Beneficiaries of the Federal Government’s Household Prosperity and Empowerment (HoPE) Cash Transfer programme have reportedly begun receiving ₦25,000 alerts.
SMS messages obtained by Nigeria Startup News state that households received ₦25,000 through institutions including Fortis Microfinance Bank and Teasy Pay. The alerts identify HoPE-CT and provide account details and a helpline.
The programme provides support to vulnerable households. Beneficiaries are expected to receive ₦25,000 monthly for three months, totalling ₦75,000 per household.
The alerts suggest payments may be reaching beneficiaries. However, they do not establish whether transfers have been completed nationwide or which other banks are involved.
How to withdraw
Beneficiaries who receive HoPE-CT SMS should check the named bank/institution and account details. If they do not already have access to the account, contact the institution through official channels to ask how to access or withdraw the funds. Beneficiaries have reportedly been advised to open an account with the institution to access the funds.
For enquiries, beneficiaries should call 969, available on MTN from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, and the National Cash Transfer Office website, www.ncto.gov.ng.
Do not pay anyone to access the cash transfer. Verify information through official NCTO channels only.
