Chinda Scales APC Screening, Set To Face Fubara In Rivers Guber Primary

Kingsley Chinda, a loyalist of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, has been cleared by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to contest the party’s governorship primary in Rivers State.

Chinda, who serves as Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, recently entered the race for the APC ticket ahead of the 2027 elections. He will face incumbent Governor Siminalayi Fubara and other aspirants at the May 21 primary.

Although Wike has not officially announced his preferred candidate, reports suggest Chinda could get his backing if he wins. The FCT minister had previously said Fubara would not be re-elected and pledged to reveal his chosen candidate at the right time.
