Carter Efe hits major milestone after Babcock ‘First Class Upper saga’

Nigerian content creator and comedian Carter Efe has been accepted into Kai Cenat’s Streamer University Class of 2026, marking a major career milestone weeks after he made headlines over a dispute with Babcock University.

The announcement came during Kai Cenat’s livestream as the American streamer unveiled this year’s selected participants. Videos of the moment quickly circulated online, with many Nigerians celebrating the achievement and congratulating the content creator.

Adding to the excitement, Afrobeats star Davido publicly offered to support Carter Efe’s trip to the United States.

“Anything you need getting to America, I got you covered,” Davido wrote.

The development comes shortly after Carter Efe became the subject of online debate following claims about his academic qualifications. The content creator had stated that he graduated from Babcock University with a “First Class Upper” degree in Biochemistry, but the institution later distanced itself from a certificate linked to the claim and noted that it does not recognise any academic classification known as “First Class Upper.”

Despite the controversy, Carter Efe’s latest achievement has shifted attention back to his content creation career.

Launched by Kai Cenat in 2025, Streamer University is a creator-focused programme that brings aspiring streamers and digital creators together for mentorship, networking and collaborative content opportunities. Its inaugural edition attracted millions of applications and generated significant online viewership.

For Carter Efe, who has built a large audience through comedy skits and livestreams in Nigeria, the invitation offers an opportunity to collaborate with creators from around the world and gain exposure on a global stage.

More details about the 2026 edition of the programme are expected in the coming weeks.
