BREAKING: Fake PFIPC DG nabbed following Abuja court bench warrant

Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, who presented himself as Director-General of the alleged fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), has been arrested, following a bench warrant issued by the Federal High Court in Abuja over his failure to appear for trial.

TheNewsGuru (TNG) understands that Justice Mohammed Umar ordered Adeyemi’s arrest on Tuesday after he failed to honour his scheduled arraignment in a case involving allegations of forgery, fraud and impersonation.

According to TVC, security operatives apprehended the defendant shortly after the court granted the prosecution’s application for his arrest.

Adeyemi is standing trial alongside two other defendants in a criminal case marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025.

The trio are facing an eight-count charge bordering on conspiracy, forgery and impersonation, filed by the Nigeria Police Force.

Although the matter was listed as number 12 on the court’s cause list, proceedings were stalled after Adeyemi failed to appear when the case was called.

Following his absence, counsel representing the Inspector-General of Police, who is prosecuting the matter, applied for a bench warrant to compel the defendant’s appearance before the court.

Justice Umar granted the application and directed law enforcement agencies to arrest Adeyemi and produce him before the court to face the charges against him.

Reports indicate that the defendant was taken into custody shortly after the warrant was issued.

The charges against Adeyemi and his co-defendants were filed on November 27, 2025, by police prosecutor Wisdom Madaki.

According to the prosecution, Adeyemi falsely presented himself as the Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), an organisation authorities have described as non-existent.

The alleged impersonation and related activities form the basis of the criminal charges currently before the Federal High Court.

The prosecution has lined up several witnesses expected to testify during the trial, including the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila.

Other witnesses listed by the prosecution are Paul Emmanuel, Jeremiah Imoukhede and Ituah Sylvester.

Also expected to testify are Akimbo Shola and Adamu Balongu, both officials of the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF), as well as a Deputy Superintendent of Police involved in the investigation.

With Adeyemi now in custody, the court is expected to proceed with his arraignment and continue hearing the case in line with judicial procedures.
