The Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG), the foremost political support groups of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Ondo State, on Thursday staged a grand thank-you rally in the Ondo North Senatorial District to appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), led by Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, for what it described as the transparent and credible emergence of the party’s candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The well-attended rally brought together leaders, coordinators and members of the AMG from across the eighteen local government areas of Ondo State in a colourful demonstration of solidarity with the President and the leadership of the ruling party.
The event was attended by the state executive of the group, local government coordinators, women leaders, youth leaders, ward representatives and other stakeholders, all of whom reaffirmed their commitment to the ideals of the Renewed Hope Agenda and the continued growth of the APC in Ondo State.
Addressing the gathering, the Director-General of the Asiwaju Mandate Group, Asiwaju Olumuyiwa Asagunla, said the rally was organised to express profound appreciation to President Tinubu for providing purposeful leadership for the nation and to commend the Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda-led National Working Committee for conducting a peaceful, transparent and credible process that has further strengthened internal democracy within the party.
According to him, the successful conduct of the party’s internal processes has reinforced the confidence of party members and demonstrated that the APC remains committed to fairness, justice and democratic principles.
“We are here today to say ‘thank you’ to our leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his unwavering commitment to strengthening our party and providing visionary leadership for our nation. We are equally grateful to the National Working Committee under the leadership of Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda for ensuring a transparent and credible process that has united our party and produced candidates capable of flying the APC flag with distinction.
“The decisions taken by the leadership of our great party have further deepened the confidence of members in the APC. We have every reason to remain united and committed because the process has shown that merit, fairness and internal democracy remain the bedrock of our party.” He said.
Asagunla also commended the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for what he described as his unwavering commitment to the growth of the APC and the Renewed Hope Agenda in Ondo State.
He said the Minister has remained a stabilising force within the APC in Ondo State, noting that his ability to foster unity, provide strategic direction and inspire confidence among party members has further strengthened the progressive movement in the State.
The AMG Director-General urged party faithful to remain steadfast, close ranks and intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, stressing that the overwhelming success of the APC would depend on the collective commitment of members at every level.
