The Chairman of Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State, Alhaji Hashimu Dantudu, has said the deployment of armored vehicles by the state government has significantly improved security and reduced bandit attacks in the area.
Dantudu made this known on Sunday at Tsamaye Village during a condolence visit by a state government delegation led by the State APC Leader, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, over the death of the Sabon Birni APC Chairman, Alhaji Amadu Malale.
According to him, the increased presence of security personnel, supported by the newly deployed armoured vehicles, has helped restore confidence among residents.
“Cases of attacks have reduced tremendously since the deployment of the armoured vehicles in the area,” he said.
Dantudu commended Governor Ahmed Aliyu for providing the vehicles, describing the initiative as a major boost to security operations across the local government.

“We are indeed witnessing the presence of security personnel in our area more than before,” he added.
He expressed optimism that the sustained efforts of the state government and security agencies would eventually bring banditry to an end.
The chairman also pledged the continued support and cooperation of the local government with the state government and security agencies in the fight against insecurity.
The state government recently procured 62 armoured vehicles and 2,000 motorcycles for security agencies across the state as part of measures to strengthen operations against bandits and other criminal elements.
Sabon Birni is one of the local government areas in Sokoto State that has been affected by persistent attacks linked to banditry.
