The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has commended Anambra State Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo on his appointment as the Anambra State coordinator of President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 presidential campaign council.
The party also reaffirmed its support for Tinubu’s re-election bid, declaring that it would not field a presidential candidate in the 2027 general election.
APGA’s National Publicity Secretary, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, disclosed this in a statement issued to journalists in Awka, the state capital, on Tuesday.
Opara described Soludo’s appointment as recognition of his leadership qualities and commitment to progressive ideals.
He said the appointment reflected the governor’s advocacy for strategic cooperation between APGA and the Federal Government to promote the interests of Anambra State and the South-East.

Opara noted that APGA had adopted Tinubu as its consensus presidential candidate at a meeting of its National Executive Committee and during the President’s working visit to Anambra State on May 8, 2025.
According to him, the party’s decision not to field a presidential candidate in 2027 was consistent with its earlier resolution to support Tinubu.
He said the political alliance with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was based on what the party described as shared progressive ideals and had encouraged federal collaboration on infrastructure and economic development in Anambra State.
“Progressives are working together,” the statement said.
Opara described the slogan as an expression of APGA’s ideological alignment with the progressive movement at the federal level.
He, however, maintained that the party would retain its political identity in Anambra State and contest legislative elections on its own platform.
“ In Anambra, it is Tinubu for President, APGA for Senate, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly,” the party declared.
APGA expressed confidence that Soludo’s intellectual capacity, organizational skills, and political influence across the South-East would help mobilize support for Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of the 2027 elections.
