Ex-SGF commends NAHCON’s progress, offers counsel on Hajj administration

A former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Alhaji Yayale Ahmed, has commended the progress being recorded by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) under the leadership of its Chairman/CEO, Ambassador Ismail Abba.

According to a release signed by  Shafii Sani Mohammed, NAHCON’s Head, Information and Publication, Ahmed, who served as SGF between September, 2008 and May, 2011, gave the commendation during a recent courtesy visit to the NAHCON boss at the commission’s Hajj House headquarters in Abuja. 

During the visit, the former SGF, who had also served the country as Head of Civil Service of the Federation and Minister of Defence, specifically noted his satisfaction with Yusuf’s agenda, praising its core focus on prioritising pilgrims’ welfare.

While emphasising that sustained attention to the needs of pilgrims is essential to enhancing their overall Hajj experience, Ahmed offered strategic guidance and encouragement to the NAHCON leadership on advancing Hajj administration and improving services for Nigerian pilgrims.

He, however, expressed his appreciation for the warm reception accorded h by the commission’s leadership during the visit.

Responding, Ambassador Yusuf described the former SGF as a vital stakeholder whose vast administrative skills, experience and insight remain invaluable to the Hajj sector. 

The NAHCON CEO expressed his gratitude for the visit, thanking the elder statesman for his continued personal guidance and interest in the wellbeing of Nigerian pilgrims.

Yusuf assured the former SGF that NAHCON remains committed to leveraging the wisdom of key stakeholders as it implements practical measures to reform Hajj administration and elevate service delivery.
