Actress Rita Edochie cites late father-in-law’s principle to shade Yul Edochie

Experienced Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has once again directed criticism towards Yul Edochie while reminiscing about a particular piece of advice from her dead father-in-law.

Sharing her thoughts on social media, Rita Edochie, who is Yul Edochie’s aunt, revealed that her late father-in-law, Odogwu Sylvester Edochie, imparted valuable guidance to her in the past by advising her against employing grown-up housemaids.

According to the late Odogwu, employing them often results in polygamy, a practice he strongly opposed.

Rita Edochie, who firmly believed her husband would never be unfaithful, expressed her astonishment that it was his own grandson (Yul Edochie) who would defy his grandfather’s cherished values, which had been respected by previous generations.

She made a heartfelt commitment to her late father-in-law, vowing to ensure that Yul Edochie reconciles with his wife, as his grandfather’s principles will remain unwavering.

Sharing an image of him, she wrote the following words of wisdom from her late father-in-law, Mazi Ejimofor Odogwu Sylvester Edochie:

“A remarkable father-in-law, unlike any other, called me and said, ‘Rita, my dear, I strongly disapprove of the idea of employing mature women as domestic helpers because I want to avoid any possibility of polygamy in my household.’

He shared this advice with me because I had a preference to hire ‘mature women’ as my ‘house help.’

In response, I said to him, ‘Papa, I understand my husband well, and that’s precisely why I can afford to do so.’ His reply, in the Hausa language, was ‘Toh,’ which means no problem, and I swiftly retorted, ‘My husband has no time for extramarital affairs, let alone with housemaids, so I know my husband, Papa.’

We settled the matter, and it remains unchanged to this day. Little did we anticipate that the issue of polygamy would arise from his own grandchild. However, Papa, I assure you, wherever you may be, your words are still valid as you expressed them. Trust me, we are fully attentive and vigilant.”

It comes as no surprise to many, as Rita Edochie has consistently shown her endorsement of Yul Edochie’s first wife, May Yul Edochie. The esteemed actress has always voiced her opposition to Yul and his second wife, Judy Austin.

This recently caused the actor to unfollow his aunt, mere hours after she initially voiced her support for May.

Rita Edochie utilized her Instagram platform to provide May Edochie with unwavering reassurance regarding the success of her marriage.

Firmly standing by her side, Rita assured May that no one could disrupt her matrimonial home, as there was no rivalry. She further emphasized that it is merely a matter of time.
