Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has inaugurated a 600-member campaign council for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi State.
TheNewsGuru reports that Malami, who is seeking to become the next governor of Kebbi State on the ADC platform, named former Deputy Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sani Tadurga, as the Director-General of the campaign council.
The council, inaugurated on Wednesday, brings together more than 600 party members drawn from across Kebbi State, including representatives from the state’s local government areas, senatorial districts, wards, communities and different political backgrounds.
The new structure is expected to coordinate the ADC’s campaign activities and mobilise support for the party and its candidates ahead of the elections.
Speaking during the inauguration, Malami said the campaign council was designed to unite the party’s various interests and ensure that all its candidates work under a common political structure.
According to him, the ADC campaign in Kebbi should not revolve around a single candidate or elective position.
“This Campaign Council represents our collective ADC campaign. It is not about one candidate or one elective position. From the governorship to the Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly, we must work as one political family,” Malami said.

The former AGF urged members of the campaign council to put aside tribal, sectional and personal interests, warning that internal divisions and rivalry could weaken the party’s chances.
He stressed the need for an inclusive political structure that carries every part of Kebbi State along.
Malami said no tribe, senatorial district, local government area, ward or community should feel excluded from the ADC’s political movement.
Tadurga is expected to lead the campaign machinery and work alongside other members of the council to coordinate grassroots mobilisation and support for the party across the state.
Malami is contesting the Kebbi governorship election on the ADC platform, with Musa Zagi as his running mate.
