MUSIC icon and General Overseer of Decross Gospel Mission, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, is set to dedicate a newly completed church edifice as the Ikeja Model Area of Decross Gospel Mission marks its 30th anniversary with a celebration of God’s faithfulness.
The anniversary and building dedication, scheduled for August 30, will take place at 13 Michael Akinola Street, Onipetesi Estate, Mangoro-Ikeja, Lagos, under the theme of celebrating 30 years of God’s faithfulness.
The programme will feature two powerful gospel ministers, Bidemi Olaoba and Shade Oshoba, who are billed to lead worship and ministration during the historic celebration.
The first service is scheduled for 9:00 a.m., while the main event begins at 12:00 noon. Worshippers and guests have also been encouraged to come dressed in all white, in keeping with the dress code for the occasion.
Speaking on the significance of the new sanctuary, the music icon described the edifice as much more than a physical structure.
“This edifice is more than a building; it is a testimony of God’s faithfulness, a monument of sacrifice, and a new altar for the advancement of His Kingdom. Truly, ‘Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it’ (Psalm 127:1).”
He said the dedication represents another significant milestone in the journey of the Ikeja Model Area, while pointing to God as the source of its strength and endurance over the past three decades.
“As this sanctuary is dedicated to God, we pray that it shall become a house of prayer, a centre of revival, a refuge for the broken, a fountain of healing and a harvest field for souls,” Obey-Fabiyi added.
He further prayed that the presence and power of God would continually abide in the sanctuary and that generations would encounter Christ within its walls.
The celebration is expected to bring together church leaders, ministers, gospel music lovers, members of the Ikeja Model Area, the wider Decross Gospel Mission family and well-wishers as the branch reflects on three decades of ministry and looks ahead to a new chapter of kingdom impact.
The host of the anniversary celebration, Reverend Bose Ogundimu, Senior Area Pastor, Ikeja Model Area, Decross Gospel Mission, expressed optimism that the occasion would be a memorable celebration of God’s faithfulness and a defining moment in the history of the branch.
Ogundimu said the completion of the new edifice and its dedication during the 30th anniversary celebration had given the congregation another compelling reason to thank God for His unfailing faithfulness.
According to her, the anniversary is not merely about celebrating the passage of 30 years, but about acknowledging God’s sustaining grace, appreciating the sacrifices of past and present members and ministers, and celebrating the progress recorded by the Ikeja Model Area over the years.
She expressed confidence that the new sanctuary would become a centre of worship, prayer, revival, healing and spiritual transformation, while serving as a platform for reaching more lives with the gospel.
Ogundimu further expressed optimism that the anniversary would usher the Ikeja Model Area into a new season of greater spiritual growth, expansion and kingdom impact.
She invited church leaders, ministers, friends, members of the public and well-wishers to join the congregation for what she described as “a great celebration of 30 years of God’s faithfulness.”
The anniversary and dedication are expected to feature thanksgiving, worship, prayers and testimonies as the Ikeja Model Area celebrates three decades of God’s grace and dedicates its new sanctuary to His glory.
