Hong Kong police have recovered the body of a 58-year-old man who had been missing for several days following an extensive search operation involving multiple emergency agencies.

According to reports, the man’s body was discovered at about 12:50 a.m. on Friday after a passerby alerted authorities to a person lying motionless near a slope on Nui Po Shan in Ma On Shan.
Police officers and emergency responders arrived at the scene, where the man was pronounced dead.
Authorities believe the deceased is the same man who was reported missing after he was last seen at King Lam Estate in Tseung Kwan O on the afternoon of July 24.
His family had reported him missing later that same day after losing contact with him, prompting police to launch a search operation.
A police spokesperson said investigators believe the man may have become lost before his death. However, the exact circumstances surrounding the incident have not yet been disclosed.
The search involved officers from the Hong Kong Police Force, the Fire Services Department, the Government Flying Service, and the Civil Aid Service, all of whom worked together over several days before the man’s body was eventually located.
Authorities have not announced the cause of death, and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
