Songstress Yemi Alade has shared why Angelique Kidjo’s album Mother Nature which she was featured on beats that of Wizkid and others won the best African Album at the Grammys yesterday.
Most people seem not happy that the album Mother Nature was chosen over Essence even though Wizkid’s Essence is all over the world while Angelique Kidjo’s Mother Nature isn’t and someone has broken it down which Yemi Alade has shared.
According to the post Yemi Alade retweeted, Angelique Kidjo dropped an album in which the headline song talked about the disasters of climate change that the west is worried about and how it will impact Africa more but people are wondering why she won a Grammy for that work.

Asking that those doubting that her work didn’t deserve a Grammy should take their time to listen to the albums ‘Africa, One Of A Kind’ and ‘Mother Nature’ and they will realize that she did a great work and it’s also something the west is really interested in hence winning a Grammy for that.
Yemi Alade was also featured on that album which means it’s a win for her as well and that means it’s a win for Nigeria too. This year’s Grammy makes Angelique Kidjo a 5x Grammy Award winner and that is a huge one for Africa.
