Wema Bank has been named Nigeria’s Best Digital Bank for Consumers 2026 by Euromoney, a global authority on banking and financial services, in recognition of its leadership in digital innovation and customer-focused banking.
The lender described the award as a reflection of its sustained investment in digital transformation, driven by ALAT, alongside innovations such as voice banking, tap-to-pay, AI-powered fraud monitoring, personalised financial services and faster digital onboarding.
Moruf Oseni, managing director/CEO of Wema Bank welcomed the recognition as validation of the financial institution’s strategy of leveraging technology to make banking simpler, faster, safer and more rewarding for customers.
The bank said the award also acknowledges its use of data-driven personalisation to deliver tailored savings, investment and credit solutions, as well as its efforts to deepen financial inclusion through an expanding agency banking network.
