Uzodinma Attends APC Screening for Orlu Senatorial Zone Ahead of 2027 Elections

Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, on Saturday, May 9, 2026, attended the All Progressives Congress (APC) special screening session for the Orlu Senatorial Zone as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.

The screening exercise was chaired by the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe, as the ruling party continues its internal processes for the selection of candidates to contest various elective positions in 2027.

Governor Uzodinma was accompanied by prominent party leaders and stakeholders, including Senator Patrick Ndubueze, APC Chairman in Imo State, Hon. Chidi Nwogu, former member of the House of Representatives, Imo State Commissioner for Agriculture Chief Cosmas Maduba, and Chief Alex Mbata, senatorial aspirant for Imo East.

Also present at the session were the Director General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria, Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, and the member representing Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency, Hon. Chigozie Nwachukwu (Omeogo).

During the exercise, Governor Uzodinma received glowing commendations from the party chairman and secretary for his leadership role and contributions to the growth of the APC in Imo State. In recognition of his standing within the party, he was invited to take a bow before the screening panel.

The APC is currently conducting screenings and other strategic activities nationwide as part of efforts to ensure a transparent and credible process in choosing candidates for the 2027 elections.
