The Federal Government has announced fresh updates on starter packs and delayed stipends for trainees under its Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme following a meeting held on Friday, October 9, 2026.
The meeting involved the Federal Ministry of Education (FME), the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and TVET centre managers.
According to the update, trainees eligible for August or September stipends will receive their practical training starter packs shortly.
Trainees whose July stipends were delayed by Remita technical issues will also be included in a supplementary payment to ensure eligible beneficiaries receive their money.
Meanwhile, manual attendance records for July and August are being reviewed for trainees granted duplicate fingerprint waivers. The minister will decide on the outstanding payments at or around the next stakeholders’ meeting.
Trainees have been advised to remain patient and continue their training as portal dashboards are restored and pending approvals are finalised.
The update did not provide a specific date for the starter pack distribution or supplementary payments.
