Done deal: Warnock extends Huddersfield stay

Neil Warnock has signed a new one-year deal at Huddersfield after keeping the club in the Championship. Warnock said: “After having conversations with Jake Edwards, it became obvious that this was going to be a difficult job for me to leave and for anybody new to come into after what we’d built at the end of last season.

Chelsea £30m talks for Jackson

The Evening Standard are reporting that Chelsea have held talks over a £30m deal for Villarreal forward Nicolas Jackson. Express Sport can confirm talks have been held with his representatives over a deal but Villarreal are yet to have received any contact from the Blues at this moment in time. Jackson came close to joining Bournemouth in a £21m deal in January but the deal collapsed after a hip problem was flagged during his medical. Aston Villa and RB Leipzig are also understood to be interested in the forward who has a £30m release clause.

United’s wild offer to Mbappe

Manchester United are reportedly planning a ‘wild’ offer for Kylian Mbappe if Sheikh Jassim’s Qatari-backed bid is successful in purchasing the Red Devils. Journalist Edu Aguirre believes that Qatar would prefer to move Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain to United rather than let him go to Real Madrid – and are prepared to pull out all the stops to get him to Manchester. Aguirre told El Chiringuito: “Qatar is leaving aside the Paris Saint Germain project, this summer is very different. “They are not going to go all in to keep Mbappe because Qatar is going to get involved in the Premier League. To get fully into Manchester United they want to copy the model of the United Arab Emirates, i.e., Manchester City. “The investment Qatar is going to make in Manchester United is wild. Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, the brother of the Emir of Qatar, wants Mbappe. “This summer they (Real Madrid) have to move fast because it is more than likely that United will come in with a wild offer for Kylian Mbappe.”
