Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi, and former Osun State Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola have met with former President Olusegun Obasanjo amid growing political consultations ahead of the 2027 general election.
TheNewsGuru reports that Makinde made this known via a brief post on his official Facebook page on Sunday, revealing that the meeting took place at Obasanjo’s residence in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
According to the governor, discussions during the meeting centred on key national issues as political activities begin to gather momentum ahead of the next general election.
“Earlier today, we visited Baba, His Excellency Chief Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR in Abeokuta,” Makinde wrote.
“Our discussions centred on important national issues in view of the upcoming general election. We appreciate Baba for his wise counsel at this crucial time in our nation’s history.”
Although Makinde did not disclose specific details of the discussions, the meeting has sparked interest as political leaders across party lines continue consultations and strategic engagements ahead of the 2027 polls.
