The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has said that the so-called G-5 governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have moved from G-5 governors to “G-String hustlers united.”

Exempting Governor Seyi Mankide of Oyo State who won his second term election, Sowore said that the immediate past PDP governors – Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Samuel Ortom of Benue State and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State had degraded from powerful G-5 governors to “perforated G-String ex-governors.”

Sowore wrote on his Twitter handle, “From G-5 to G-String: Hustlers United! From so-called Powerful “G-5” Governors to Perforated G-String Ex-Governors (except for Makinde who is still a serving governor).

Gunmen Abduct 4 In Kwara

Suspected gunmen have abducted four persons including three naming guests and a vigilante in the Asa local government area of Kwara State.

Punch Metro gathered that the abductors in their numbers ambushed some guests who were heading home from a naming ceremony in Aboto village in the Council area.

The incident, it was further gathered occurred on Tuesday evening when the guests were returning to Ilorin from a naming ceremony held in Aboto.

Chairman of the vigilante in Kwara State, Saka Ibrahim, confirmed the incident in a telephone chat with our correspondent on Thursday.

According to him, “One of the natives in the community who held a naming ceremony for his newly born child was taking some guests home after the programme when his car was ambushed.

“Three male guests and one of our vigilante officials who tried to rescue them were however Kidnapped in the process. He was not wearing a uniform and did not carry any arms.

IPMAN Assures On Capacity To Force Price Of Petrol Down

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has assured that it has the numerical strength to force down the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) also known as petrol, after the pump price of the product skyrocketed following the removal of subsidy by the federal government.

This was made known by the national president of the association, Chinedu Okoronkwo, while addressing journalists at a news conference in Abuja on Wednesday.

Edo Assembly Clears 15 Commissioner-Nominees

The Edo State House of Assembly, on Thursday, cleared 15 commissioner-nominees presented by Governor Godwin Obaseki.

According to a statement on Thursday by the Government House, a letter addressed to the Speaker of the state House of Assembly by the Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie, stated that the nominees were the first batch, saying more names were expected to be presented to the Assembly in the coming days.

The letter read in part, “I write at the instance of His Excellency, the Governor of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki, to forward herewith the under-listed names of commissioner-nominees to the Edo State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation.
