Though disturbed by what Mr. Nduka Orjini of BBC lamented under the caption “Nigeria’s Muhammadu Buhari, Leaves Legacy of Kidnapping, Inflation and Debt”, this piece only becomes a child of necessity if you wish.
This is contained in his report when he said “His (Buhari) borrowing spree has drawn warnings from the World Bank that Africa’s largest economy was using 96% of its revenue to service debts”. I, like any other optimistic Nigerians, believe that the President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will turn around the nation’s fortunes and economy for the better.
Another heart-dislodging move is when BBC’s Orjini reveals that, “Last week, with the end in sight, Mr. Buhari pleaded with lawmakers to hurriedly approve an $800m (£640m) loan from the World Bank. Nigeria’s public debt could pass $150bn this year – when he took over it stood at a little over $60bn.” To me, all these are gloomy pictures with undermining influences on the psyche of the citizens. But a critical look at Tinubu’s pedigree in both governance and economic management, one can but agree with me that he has the needed bravery to navigate through the stormy and Tsunami-like waters.
Wike Denies Feud With Governor-elect

Outgoing Rivers State governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has denied reports on social media about a purported disagreement between him and the state governor-elect, Siminalaye Fubara.
There were reports on social media that there had been a face-off between the governor and the governor-elect, following decisions of the latter to invite the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and other leaders of the party, to his inauguration without the former’s consent.
But, speaking on Wednesday during the commissioning of the 250-bed Pamo University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital in Iriebe, Port Harcourt, Wike described the rumour as “baseless.”
He said: “Let me state it here that we are not quarreling. People have been peddling the rumour that we (the governor-elect and myself) are quarreling; instead of them to be happy about the good works we are doing for the state.”

The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele has warned of a division between the President-elect, Bola Tinubu and his Vice, Kashim Shettima.
Primate Ayodele said Tinubu and Shettima would have issues when they assume office.
In a statement by his Media Aide, Oluwatosin Osho, Ayodele revealed that the Southwest and Northern cabals would not have it rosy till the end.
According to Ayodele: ‘’Apart from these ones, President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and vice president-elect, Kashim Shettima will have issues. There will be attempts to divide them.
“Also, the South-west cabal and Northern Cabals will not have it rosy till the end, there will be disagreements between them.’’

The Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos says it will declare former Minister of Ation, Femi Fani-Kayode, wanted if he fails to appear on the next adjourned date for his trial.
Justice Olubumni Abike-Fadipe frowned upon the constant non-appearance of the defendant, noting that the last time he was in court was November 4, 2022.
Fani-Kayode is standing trial on a 12 counts bordering on the use of false documents, use of fabricated evidence, procuring the execution of documents by false pretense and fabricating evidence.
