President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Pastor William Kumuyi, the founder and General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, on his 85th birthday.
The message was contained in a statement released on Saturday by the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
In the statement, the President recognized Kumuyi’s decades of service and leadership, noting that his ministry, writings, and public engagements have significantly influenced believers globally.
“As the convener of Global Crusade with Kumuyi, your voice has reached beyond the church walls and national borders, bringing hope and encouragement to millions across the world. Your writings have illuminated minds, inspired hearts, and provided timeless guidance to those seeking truth and purpose. Your ministry and influence have transformed lives, restored families, inspired leaders, and strengthened the faith of generations of believers.”
The President extended his well-wishes for the cleric’s continued health and vitality.
“On this special day, I pray that Almighty God continues to grant you strength, divine health, peace, and abundant grace.”
Kumuyi was born on June 6, 1941, in Erin-Ijesha, Osun State. He founded the Deeper Life Bible Church in 1973. The church began as a small campus fellowship at the University of Lagos, where he was a mathematics lecturer, and has since expanded into a Pentecostal denomination with a presence in over 150 countries.
