Nigerians on social media have called out Super Eagles and Nottingham Forest forward Taiwo Awoniyi for failing to marry a woman who meets societal standard of beauty.
This comes after the 29-year-old Nigerian forward, who is married to Taiye Jesudun, shared a photo of himself and his family enjoying their holiday in Europe on his social media page.
Sharing the photos on his Instagram page, Awoniyi wrote, “You’ve been just that good, so good to me”
Reacting to the photos, netizens criticised the footballer for choosing to walk down the aisle with a woman they consider unattractive.
While some chastised the footballer, others lauded him for choosing long-term peace, loyalty, and family stability. Awoniyi has long celebrated Jesudun publicly as his blessing, highlighting their bond through career highs and lows.

Interestingly, both Taiwo Awoniyi and his wife, Taiye Jesudun, have twin siblings. The Nigerian footballer married his partner Taiye Jesudun in an engagement and traditional wedding in Kabba on 15 June 2018, followed by a white wedding on 16 June in Ilorin.
