Since Bawa is from Ekiti, use your influence to truncate the investigation- Bagudu tells Fayemi

In a news that was published by the Sahara Reporters online this evenung, it was reported that according to the information that was obtained by the Justice and Equity Forum, which was shared with Sahara Reporters yesterday, Thursday, Governor Bagudu, has assured Fayemi that since the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa, is from Ekiti State, he (Fayemi) could use his influence as the former Governor of the state to truncate the investigation.

It was reported that the former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has reportedly reached out to his colleague in Kebbi State, Alhaji Atiku Bagudu, to intervene in the current criminal investigation by the EFCC against him in Ekiti State.

In the information that was obtained by the Justice and Equity Forum, which was shared with Sahara Reporters correspondent on Thursday, Atiku Bagudu, assured Fayemi that, since the EFCC Chairman, is from his state, he (Fayemi) should use his influence as the former Governor of the state, to truncate the corruption investigation against him.

Adetifa Olumide, while giving more information on the development said that, part of the agenda of the two former governors, was to visit the Presidential Villa and table the matter before President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who will help him talk to Bawa.

The statement reads, “The unverified information reaching us is that, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, has assured Doctor Kayode Fayemi, of intervening in the ongoing criminal investigation against him (Fayemi). That the EFCC Chairman, is from his state, and that he could use his influence as the state’s former governor, to truncate the investigation. And part of the agenda was the visit to the Presidential villa by Bagudu along with Dr. Kayode Fayemi.”

Further talking, the forum humbly called on President Asiwaju Bola Ahamed Tinubu, not to allow himself to be drawn into the arena of hindering justice by the suspects who are posing for pictures with him, in order to intimidate the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
