Segun Agbaje to Earn N41.63 Million From GTCO N1 Interim Dividend

Segun Agbaje, Group Chief Executive Officer of Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc (GTCO), is positioned to receive approximately N41.63 million in gross interim dividend following the financial services group’s declaration of N1 per ordinary share for the first half of 2026.

GTCO’s audited financial statements for the six months ended June 30, 2026 showed that Agbaje held a combined 41,628,001 shares in the financial services group.

The shareholding comprises 32,146,651 shares held directly and another 9,481,350 shares held indirectly, according to the directors’ shareholding disclosure contained in the financial statements.

At the proposed interim dividend of N1 per ordinary share, Agbaje’s combined direct and indirect interest translates to a gross dividend entitlement of N41,628,001, subject to his holdings remaining eligible at the applicable register closure date.

The payment will also be subject to withholding tax.

GTCO stated in the financial report that its directors proposed an interim dividend of N1 per ordinary share on the issued capital, payable to shareholders whose names appear on the register at the closure date.

The company’s disclosure showed that Agbaje’s shareholding remained unchanged compared with December 2025, when he similarly held 32.15 million shares directly and 9.48 million shares indirectly.

The dividend declaration followed GTCO’s financial performance in the first six months of the year.

The group reported gross earnings of N1.107 trillion for the period, compared with N1.073 trillion in the corresponding period of 2025.

Profit before income tax stood at N603.03 billion, marginally higher than the N600.90 billion reported a year earlier.

However, profit for the period declined to N414.19 billion from N449.01 billion in the first half of 2025, while profit attributable to equity holders of the parent stood at N408.54 billion.

Basic earnings per share was N11.18, compared with N13.59 in the corresponding period.

For Agbaje, the N1 interim dividend means his disclosed 41.63 million-share interest in GTCO is positioned to generate N41.63 million in gross dividend income from the first-half distribution alone.
