A report was released on Monday that the Supreme Court has scheduled a hearing date of May 26 to determine whether the candidate for President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, was eligible to contest the presidential election held on February 25.

In reaction to this report, Sam Amadi took to Twitter, some minutes ago, to say that the Supreme Court would exercise an overly large influence over Nigerian democracy this time around.

Apparently, Sam Amadi made it clear that the Supreme Court had the potential to help Nigerians preserve or destroy real democracy.

In his tweet, he wrote in the following below: “The Supreme Court has adjourned an important case in this electoral circle until May 26.”. It is likely that the court is going to exert an overpowering influence on Nigerian democracy during this election season. Nigeria’s chance of a real democracy could be preserved or destroyed by them. “What a time in history. It was a time when both the FHC and the COA were dead wrong. On the basis of the Supreme Court’s views regarding Uche Nwosu, the PDP has locus.

It ought to be noted that the case does not relate to the outcome of the primary but rather to INEC’s failure to comply with the law by disqualifying a candidate who did not meet the qualifications. Therefore, PDP has the right to bring the case as the opposing party.”
