The member representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DON), has distributed food palliatives to hundreds of residents in the constituency, marking the fifth consecutive edition of the intervention.
The latest distribution took place on Monday at the Ibadan North Local Government Secretariat, with beneficiaries drawn from various communities, religious organisations, associations, and other groups within the federal constituency.
Speaking during the event, Oyekunle said the initiative was aimed at providing immediate relief to families facing economic hardship, stressing that it was not driven by political considerations.
He said, “This is specifically to reach out to our people. It is not about politics. Whatever we can do to bring relief and value back to our people, we will continue to do.”
The lawmaker said the food distribution had become a continuous intervention designed to cushion the effects of the current economic challenges on his constituents.

According to him, his representation was focused on ensuring that residents benefited directly from opportunities and resources attracted to the constituency.
He listed some of the interventions facilitated for the constituency to include solar-powered street lights, federal employment opportunities, empowerment programmes and other projects targeted at identified needs.
Oyekunle assured the constituents that more interventions were being planned, saying he would continue to seek ways of bringing tangible benefits to the people of Ibadan North.
He said, “We will not relent in our efforts to bring more benefits and opportunities to Ibadan North. This is only one of the ways we can support our people, and there are still more interventions on the way.”
He also expressed appreciation to the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for creating an enabling environment for leaders and stakeholders to serve the people.
Oyekunle thanked the beneficiaries and residents for their support and for turning out in large numbers for the distribution.
Speaking at the event, elder statesman, Ismaila Ashipa, commended Oyekunle for what he described as effective representation and commitment to the welfare of his constituents.
Ashipa urged residents to continue to support the lawmaker, including through their prayers, and called on them to reciprocate his efforts by supporting the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) at the polls.
The event was attended by the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, the Vice Chairman, Secretary to the local government, party leaders, supporters, and other stakeholders.
