After months of illness, Rasheed Balogun, the General Manager of NPFL club Shooting Stars of Ibadan, has died.

Shooting Stars acknowledged his death in a post on their Twitter account.

The 62-year-old died on Thursday night, January 20th, according to the Ibadan-based club.

The statement read: “We LOST our GENERAL MANAGER After a long battle with an undisclosed illness for months, RASHEED BALOGUN finally succumbed to death on Thursday night. Details soon. What a sad Thursday to Oluyole Warriors fans across the world.”

In other news, the proprietor of a private school, Noble Kids, Abdulmalik Tanko has been reportedly arrested for abducting and killing a 5-year-old child, Hanifa Abubakar.

In the late hours of yesterday, the relative of the murdered girl took to his Twitter page to vow never to let the killers of the little go scot-free. He broke the news about the killing of the little girl which attracted a lot of reactions.

After the arrest of the proprietor of Noble Kids school, Abdul Malik Tanko, some family members told the police that he was among the first set of people who came to console her parents after they discovered their child was murdered.

The uncle of the deceased, Suraj Suleiman, confirmed the killing and recovery of the little girl’s remains at a private school in Tudunwada, Nasarawa local government area of Kano. According to him, the abductor first took her to his wife, but the wife rejected to keep her.

“After his wife rejected to keep Hanifa, he took her to Tudunwada where he operates a private school and then laced her tea with rat poison,” he said..

“After she was poisoned to death, the kidnappers then cut her body into pieces and buried it within the school,” the uncle said.

It was gathered that the abductors were arrested around Zaria Road in Kano last night while attempting to collect the second tranche of the 6 million Naira ransom.

The 5-year-old was whisked away on December 4, 2021, by the kidnappers, who came in a commercial tricycle and lured her to enter for a joyride.
