The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, have landed in Nigeria for a three-day tour to promote the Invictus Games.

The royal couple’s visit, which began on Friday, May 10, marks a pivotal moment in their advocacy for wounded and sick service members and veterans.

The Invictus Games, founded by Prince Harry, stands as a beacon of support for the rehabilitation of military personnel who have faced adversity in the line of duty.

Notably, the tour holds particular significance as it extends its reach to include Nigerian soldiers engaged in a protracted conflict against Islamic extremists spanning 14 years.

Upon their arrival in Nigeria, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were greeted with heartfelt enthusiasm at Lightway Academy in Abuja, a school supported by their Archewell Foundation.

Adorned with a vibrant welcome banner exclaiming “We Are Honored To Have You!” and accompanied by a captivating performance by local singers and dancers, the couple’s presence elicited joy and appreciation from the community.

During their visit, Meghan Markle, aged 42, took a moment to share endearing updates about their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The couple’s engagement with students at the academy was marked by warmth and genuine connection, as they graciously accepted beaded necklaces as tokens of appreciation.

In a heartwarming exchange, Prince Harry, aged 39, engaged with children aged two to five in a kindergarten class, where he inquired about their favorite activities.

With beaming smiles lighting up their faces, the royal couple embraced the spirit of friendship and celebration, fostering a sense of unity and empowerment among the students gathered at the school.
