The Adamawa State Police Command on Saturday rescued a man kidnapped the previous day, Friday, June 26.
According to the Command, “On June 27, 2026, a combined team of Police operatives attached to Song Divisional Police Headquarters and local hunters successfully rescued a kidnapped victim, Alhaji Rabe Suleiman, a resident of Roma Village, Suktu District, Song Local Government Area.”
The Command, in a statement circulated on Saturday, added that the victim was abducted in the early hours of June 26, 2026, after which, acting on credible intelligence, the joint security team traced the kidnappers’ hideout around the Morogma Mountains, where they engaged the armed criminals in a gun duel.
The statement, signed by the Adamawa State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, added, “Overpowered by the superior firepower and tactical response of the security team, the kidnappers fled into the surrounding mountains with suspected bullet wounds, abandoning the victim who was rescued unhurt.”
Items recovered at the scene, according to the statement, include one Beretta pistol, one live round of Beretta ammunition, one torchlight, one small bag, suspected charms and food items.
“The rescued victim was taken to a medical facility for examination and has since been reunited with his family,” the police stated.
