The Kaduna State Police Command has dismantled two suspected bandit hideouts during a clearance operation in Makarfi Local Government Area of the state.
The operation, conducted on Saturday, August 29, involved operatives of the command and the Kaduna State Vigilance Service, Makarfi, as part of efforts to deny bandits freedom of movement and enhance the safety of residents and property.
In a statement issued by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, the police said the operation followed credible intelligence provided by members of the community.
Hassan said the intelligence led security operatives to suspected bandit enclaves around Durum and Danguzuri general areas, extending to the boundary with Kano State.
He said two structures identified as hideouts allegedly used by the bandits to hold abducted victims were dismantled at Rugar Mijin Goggo and Unguwar Maryamu in Danguzuri.
The statement read in part, “On 29th August, 2026 at about 0800hrs, operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command in collaboration with the Kaduna State Vigilance Service, Makarfi, engaged bandits and dismantled their hideout during a clearance operation in Makarfi Local Government Area.
“During the operation, two structures identified as hideouts used by bandits to hold abducted victims at Rugar Mijin Goggo and Unguwar Maryamu, Danguzuri, were dismantled.”

The command said joint security patrols were still ongoing in the area, adding that normalcy had been restored and the general area remained calm.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, psc, mni, commended the communities for their cooperation and the operatives for their gallantry.
He reaffirmed the command’s resolve to sustain its offensive against banditry and other forms of criminality across the state.
The command also appealed to members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies to support ongoing operations.
