Nigerian dancer and singer Poco Lee, whose real name is Iweh Pascal Odinaka, is currently being held in a UK prison on remand following an alleged sexual offence.
UK-based Nigerian community advocate Oluomo of Derby shared this information and confirmed that Poco Lee’s next court date is set for the second week of September 2026.
Oluomo explained in posts on X that the next hearing will likely be a plea hearing, where Poco Lee will state whether he pleads guilty or not guilty to the charge.
Oluomo called the case serious and pointed out that only limited details can be shared with the public right now. He also said he hopes Poco Lee is ready for what might be a long legal process.
He added that if Poco Lee pleads not guilty, the trial might not happen until next year. If bail is denied, Poco Lee could stay in custody, especially if authorities see him as a flight risk
Oluomo also said he plans to attend the court proceedings to support the Nigerian community in the UK and help ensure Poco Lee gets the assistance he needs during the legal process.
In his words: “I can confirm that Poco Lee is currently on remand in a UK prison. His next court date is scheduled for the second week of September, when he is expected to have a plea hearing. At this hearing, he will typically enter a plea of either guilty, meaning he admits to the offence or not guilty, meaning he denies the offence.
“I will also be attending the court proceedings as part of my support for the Nigerian community in the UK, to ensure that our fellow Nigerian receives the appropriate support during this difficult period of his life.
“It is important that we allow the legal process to take its course. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”
News of Poco Lee’s arrest for the alleged sexual offence first came out on August 19, 2026. So far, the UK police and court have not released any official statements.
Poco Lee has not yet made any public comments about the allegations.
