The father of Prince Adeniyi Mathew Adeyemi, Pa Adeniyi Adetunji, has disclosed that operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have visited his Ogbomoso home twice in search of his son.
Prince Adeyemi is the Director General of the controversial Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), an agency listed and allocated funds in the federal budget, but alleged to be fake.
Pa Adetunji, in an interview with reporters, said he is yet to come to terms with the series of allegations levelled against his son, who, according to him, works with the government in Abuja.
He said even though he did not know the particular office, he insisted that his son works with the Federal Government in Abuja.
Adetunji added that his son came to Ogbomoso not long ago to spend two days before he later returned to Abuja.
He said he was surprised to hear the news of his son being accused of parading himself as the Director General of a particular government agency in Abuja.
“Yes, my son works with the government in Abuja, but I don’t know the particular office. He came home a few days ago before he later returned to Abuja.
“My son is an easy-going type right from his childhood days. That is why I am surprised at the kind of news that I am hearing,” Adetunji narrated.
According to him, the police have visited him over the issue to search his house.
“Policemen have been to my house on two occasions. They ransacked everywhere, including my wardrobe,” he recounted.
“They went away with my phone and that of my wife, but they later returned them. They queried me for not knowing where my son is.
“I have repeatedly told them that he works in Abuja, but I don’t know the particular office.
“I cannot comprehend what is going on, but all I can say for now is that my son is not a fraudulent type.”
