National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress ,ADC, Senator David Mark, has assured that the party would sponsor candidates that can win elections, adding that the exit of Mr Peter Obi , former presidential candidate of Labour Party, LP, and Rabiu Kwankwanso former presidential candidate of New Nigeria People’s Party , NNPP, will spur the party to work harder
Mark, who stated this while addressing the members of the Forum of the African Democratic Congress ,ADC, former Federal Lawmakers, at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, said the challenges which the party had faced would spur it to victory at the polls.
“We must close our ranks and avoid issues of factionalization. Our opponents are bringing renegades as one-man factions. We shall overcome all their shenanigans.
“Nigerians are already with us and we all need to be on board. That is why I urge us all to work together and succeed together”, he further said.
On the defection of the former governor of Anambra State and former Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi as well as the former Kano State governor and presidential candidate of the NNPP in the 2023 election, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, the ADC National chairman said their exit will “spur us to work harder.
“No doubt, the exit of Obi and Kwankwaso has its impact but that will spur us to work harder”, Mark stated.
Ex- Presidential Candidate, Ameh Dumps Labour Party

Former Presidential Candidate of the Progressive People’s Alliance, PPA, in the 2019 general election and former Inter Party Advisory Council, IPAC, Chairman , High Chief Peter Ameh has dumped the Labour Party .
Ameh in his resignation letter addressed to his ward chairman said his resignation is not driven by his personal ambition but by conviction that political institutions must be built on trust and respect.
“After a careful reflection, I have come to the difficult but necessary decision to resign from the Labour Party. This choice is made in the overriding interest of our nation’s progress and the continued stability of our democracy.
“I wish to express my profound gratitude to you and all members of the Labour Party in Olamaboro and Nigeria at large for their support, trust, and cooperation I received during my time in the party.
“My association with the Labour Party was rooted in my belief in its social democratic ideals, It was further strengthened by the enduring friendship and solidarity of my late brother, the former National Chairman of the Labour Party, Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdulsalam (A.A. Salam). I remain deeply honoured to have walked part of this journey in his memory.
“As someone who has served over the years in different leadership capacities, including as former National Chairman of the Progressive Peoples Alliance ,PPA, and former National Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council ,IPAC, my faith in the prospect of our Multi-Party democratic system remains unflinching and I will continue to work to ensure it’s sustainability and survival.
“My decision is not borne out of anger or personal interest, but from my conviction that political institutions must be built on trust, respect for agreements, institutional integrity and our words both in private and public must reflect our actions and decisions.
“As I step into a new phase, I thank the leadership and members of the party for the opportunity to pursue our shared aspiration of building a better and more prosperous Nigeria.
“I sincerely appreciate all party members, supporters, and associates who have shown goodwill and commitment over the years. I also wish the National Working Committee and members of the Labour Party Nationwide success in their future endeavours and in their continued efforts toward National development”, the letter read.
