A Nigerian man, Mr Francis Ushie has narrated more on his experience of losing contact with his wife and children after they relocated to Canada, saying he has spent the better part of 13 years struggling and living without his family.
According to Ushie, the problems in his marriage began with infidelity on his wife’s part. He said he nevertheless hoped that relocating to Canada would improve their relationship and family situation.
“This whole thing started with infidelity on her own part. But I felt that when we leave Nigeria to Canada, things would be better,” he said.
Ushie said he resigned from his banking job after the family obtained permanent residency and made arrangements for the relocation. He also claimed that he paid two years’ rent in advance in Canada, but alleged that his wife later prevented him from knowing where she and their children were staying.
“I even paid two years rent in advance in Canada, but I didn’t know she was planning to take my children away from me,” he said.
According to him, his wife blocked him after arriving in Canada, stopped their children from communicating with him and refused to provide him with their home address.
Ushie said he is considering writing to the Canadian government to explain what happened and seek attention to his situation.
“I’m still considering writing to the Canadian government to let them know what transpired,” he said.
Despite the years of separation, Ushie said he remains open to reconciling with his wife if she is willing to do the same.
“I’m still ready to reconcile with my wife if she’s willing to do the same,” he said.
He also expressed hope that his children would eventually see his account of the situation and understand the sacrifices he made for them.
“I hope my children get to see this video and know that I suffered to send them to Canada with everything I had. I even resigned from my banking job. Now I’m homeless, suffering and alone,” he said.
