Nigerian men are better than the rest – Toke Makinwa
Nigerian TV personality and actress, Toke Makinwa has said that men from her home country are the best in the world.
Makinwa said despite her criticisms of Nigerian men, they are better compared to their counterparts around the world, especially the United Kingdom.
The controversial show host made the comment during the latest episode of her podcast, Toke Moments, where she noted that she only criticises them because they are badly behaved.
She said: “No matter how I criticise Lagos boys, Nigerian men are just badly behaved. But I still think Naija men in the pool are still the best around the world.
“What UK girls are going through, I don’t understand. All my cousins in the UK when they tell me their dating stories, it is bad.”
Her guest on the show British podcaster, Madame Joyce, agreed with her assertion and shared her unromantic experience with men in UK.
Joyce said; “Honestly, it is really bad. And I feel like because we are so used to it, that is just the expectation. In Nigeria here, somebody opened the car door for me, I was like, ‘Wow!’ UK boys barely do that. Chivalry in London is so dead. The guys don’t have much shame. There are still conversations about splitting the bills. It happened to me once.”
Meanwhile, in another news…
Nollywood actress, Omobewaji Oyediji popularly known as Mo Bewa, has said Nigerian don’t know how to be patient and persistent when wooing a woman.
The screen diva said Nigerian men are not romantic, are impatient and she is scared of their approach to relationship matters. Mo Bewa complained about how a man would meet an woman for the first time and immediately invite her to his place of residence.
She said; “I don’t think Nigerian men are romantic. They don’t even know how to woo women anymore. They meet you and just want you to come over to their place immediately. They don’t want to waste time. I’m scared of Nigerian men.”
