According to a recent report by Sahara reporters, it was reported that Fakunle Government Secondary School, Osogbo, Osun State, has been hurriedly locked after teargas was fired into the school by the police officers, and no less than 20 students were admitted to a hospital.

It was discovered that the school, located adjacent to Osogbo City Stadium, is also behind a mobile police station.

A further report reveals that the affected students who were hit by the smoke fainted and were rushed to the hospital. A teacher who begged on animosity said the private hospital close to the school could not accommodate all affected students, and they were rushed to the University of Osun Teaching Hospital.

The teacher explained that the school authorities ordered the immediate closure of the school when he noticed that the smoke was becoming unbearable.

However, all attempts to speak with the principal proved abortive because the school closed down immediately after the incident. Though the state police spokeswoman, Yemisi Opalola, had promised to look into the alleged tear gas discharge.
